"Where else are you going to get a £3.5m player like Kyogo? It's an absolute no-brainer” - Michael Gannon told the Daily Mail.
Kyogo Furuhashi joined Rennes in the winter of 2025 but did not seem to hit the ground running in the Brittany region. His time there consists of just four appearances and falling out of favor with manager Habib Beye.
The former Vissel Kobe striker might look to make the move back to Scotland as another leaves the country.
With the fee of Kyogo's transfer being somewhere in the £10 million heights, the £3.5 million price tag was branded a "no-brainer" by Michael Gannon.
Furuhashi is a former Chuo University footballer, then going on to represent FC Gifu before making the step up to J1 level with Vissel Kobe.
He was one of the few Japanese footballers to make the lead across the world to Glasgow Celtic, and in turn, becoming a household name for their fans.
